This was a wedding to remember! Sarah and Ciaran have been together for 16 years, and their families were delighted when they came back from New York to get married in their local church at Crosserlough. Fr. Quinn is an incredibly kind priest, and welcomed us all with open arms and a warm smile. The ceremony was peppered with laughs and great emotion as these two exchanged vows. Even after all these years together, it’s clear that these two are still crazy about each other. Sarah knocked Ciaran for six when she walked through the church door. Her Marchesa wedding gown was truly spectacular, and the romantic veil she wore was the icing on the cake. I’d forewarned him that she might just blow him away, to which he replied “She always does!”. Now, that’s a man in love.
They continued the celebrations at the stunning Crover House Hotel, where they were greeted with a good luck tradition of opening a bottle of champagne with a sword! Their wedding guests took refuge from the blistering sun in the bar, where they sipped on champers and long, cool pints.
The reception room at Crover House is particularly fantastic, with panoramic views of Lough Sheelin and the glorious countryside beyond. Sarah, Ciaran and their guests feasted on a mouthwatering organic wedding breakfast while watching the sun set over the lake.
One of the truly terrific aspects of having your wedding at Crover House is it’s stunning setting. We chose to wait and do the couple photos until sunset, when the heat of the day had passed, and we were spoilt with gorgeous golden light. We headed down to the shore of Lough Sheelin, and then wandered through the beautiful gardens surrounding Crover House. It’s terrific when you don’t have to take the bride and groom away from the party for a long period of time to get those important couple photos.
We were back just in time for the dancing to start! A perfect end to a perfect wedding. We’d highly recommend having your wedding at Crover House Hotel – great setting, yummy food, lovely staff. What more could you ask for 😊
