The Wild Atlantic Way lived up to its reputation for this gorgeous pair. Kate and Patrick came over from California with their closest family and friends, to get married in the gorgeous west coast of Ireland. They enlisted the help of the talented Annie of Aislinn Events to help them plan their wedding from across the water. They fell in love with the homely vibes of Ballintaggart House, and the stunning outlook from the gardens. John and Clodagh offer couples the whole use of the house, so that it really feels like a home from home. Perfect for when you’re looking for a chilled, intimate wedding feel. Clodagh’s gifted hubster is the master behind the cooking of the house, and he doesn’t disappoint. Katie, Patrick and their guests were spoiled with a wedding feast fit for kings.
We had arrived on the Sunday so that we could find all the best places to take Katie and Patrick on their couple photos. The wind was howling, and the rain was torrential! We were soaked when we rocked up to Ballintaggart to say hi to the happy couple! Thankfully, most of the bad weather had passed come Monday morning. They decided to hold their wedding ceremony in the front room of the house rather than risk the outbreaks of rain that were intermittant throughout the morning. We got lucky though for the rest of the afternoon, as the sun fought to shine through. As their guests headed off to Dingle to partake in a Guinness or three, we brought the newlyweds down to Beenbawn beach. Katie was well prepared for the Irish weather in her spotted wellies, and amazing attitude! She and Patrick are head over heels for each other, and their priority was to just enjoy being in the moment. They danced, snuggled and laughed their way through the session. Rather than spend an hour round trip heading to Slea Head, we then decided to join their guests for a bevvy.
Fast forward our return trip to Ballintaggart House, and the lovely John had a wee surprise for the horse-mad bride. Out he came with the stunning Amigo, and seriously adorable Dolly for some equine cuddles. Katie even offered her bouquet to Amigo for a snack, but I think he was more interested in nose pats! We tried to bring Dolly home, but we couldn’t fit her in the car!! Shame 😉
Hopefully we’ll be back for cuddles again soon! In the meantime, thankyou from the bottom of our hearts for choosing us to photograph your incredible wedding Katie and Patrick.
